Late June 2024 Committee Updates

We had 19 volunteers who cleaned up the Gaslight Addition, the Crestwood Neighborhood, Westeen Avenue, Wall Street , Main Street by the Goodrich Cemetery, Brown Street, Richmond Street, and the Miller farm. We thought we would need 4 dumpsters, but it took 8. We will get help paying for the tonnage, but we may need to determine how to pay for the dumpsters. We have some options we are checking.

The county barn has given away the food to various pantries, the diapers and formula to the pregnancy center, the dog food and bleach to the shelter. The potato chips are going to the 4-H fair.

Cheryl Zell and Nicki Owens are working on informational meetings for anyone dealing with trauma or problems. It does not have to be tornado related, but will give people options of where to go if needing spiritual or emotional help. We are not providing services, rather giving information about how to seek help. Nancy will meet with them to help advertise the meetings.

The Case Managers are now being compensated through a grant from the United Way to help them compensate for the time spent on case management.
